About Angela

Angela studied Law at Durham and then completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. She was called to the Bar in 1997 as a member of Lincoln’s Inn.

Following her call to the Bar, she joined Ealing Magistrates’ Court as an employed barrister and trainee legal adviser. She then spent a number of successful years in the courts service, progressing quickly to legal adviser and then senior legal adviser. Angela clerked the full range of courts including family proceedings, regulatory work and youth and was instrumental in the running of the Acton Youth Court. She was involved in the training of magistrates and staff and attended regular meetings with agencies including the Crown Prosecution Service, Probation and Youth Justice Service.

Angela left the courts service in 2014 to complete pupillage at Blackfriars and then became a tenant the same year.
Whilst having a good knowledge of areas including family law, licensing and licensing appeals, at present Angela mainly practises criminal law, being the area she finds most stimulating and rewarding. Her practice is across London and the South Eastern Circuit.

Currently, her practice is predominantly prosecution work and she receives regular instructions from the CPS and London Probation Service. She appears in the Crown, magistrates’ and youth courts. She has prosecuted a wide range of offences in the Crown Court including drug offences, violence and sexual offences. She has built up a good knowledge of matters relating to mental health, vulnerable witnesses and ground rules hearings.

Angela accepts defence instructions and is looking to increase her defence practice.
Angela is a member of the Criminal Bar Association, the Fraud Lawyers Association and the Female Fraud Forum.
