Called to the Bar in 1999
Matthew is an experienced grade 3 prosecution counsel regularly appearing in Crown Courts throughout London. He has prosecuted trials including serious offences of robbery, wounding, GBH, arson, blackmail, firearms and false imprisonment. He is regularly instructed in class A drugs cases (supply and importation) as well as matters of fraud and serious cases of domestic violence.

Matthew has utilised the services of intermediaries to assist young and vulnerable witnesses in the context of sexual offences and child cruelty trials. Cases involving single and multiple defendants are undertaken for the prosecution and he has experience of cases involving the attention of the media both local and national.

Matthew has recent experience as counsel for the prosecution in serious trials involving complex scientific, forensic and psychiatric evidence as well as the confiscation of significant assets held in the UK and abroad.
